Whether you’ve been acting for 40 years like Rick or have wondered what acting is all about, you’ll want to be here. Not only will you gain invaluable insights about the craft (and how to apply those insights!) from a master actor and storyteller, but one of the most wonderful things about this class is how the principles and practices you discover will not only help you as an actor…they will help you as a person!

And the best part about this class? You never know what’s going to happen! YOU—the students---play a huge part in what happens each class. Like the craft of acting itself, Rick’s approach to teaching acting is very “in-the-moment”. He doesn’t just come to the class ready to tell you what he thinks you need to know: he comes to class expecting you to ask questions so he can give the resources you really want, are really looking for, and really need to be the best YOU you can be!

What you’ll learn in this acting class:

• The ABCs of Acting – what’s an actor, what is acting, and how do you do it well?
• Emotional Recall & Substitution – what they are and how to do them.
• The Power of Visualization – how to unleash your imagination at any time.
• The Importance of Improvisation – what it really is and how you really do it
• Comedy – how to master it and why you must!
• Believability – how to make anything you say and everything you do believable
• How to Create A Character – shoes and teeth, people! Shoes and teeth!
• How to Create New Voices.

Requirements:
An open heart, a willing mind, a courageous spirit, and an inquisitive soul! You don’t need to have any prior knowledge of acting but if you know the difference between Stanislavski and Strasberg you’ll fit right in, too!

• Anybody curious about the craft of acting and how it can be applied to make them a better, more confident communicator and/or performer
