Imagine spending your days collaborating with customers to create the perfect flower arrangements to meet their needs. Professional Floral Designers do this and more! Floral design is the art of using flowers and plant materials to create beautiful arrangements. For centuries, people have celebrated special occasions, expressed love or appreciation, and provided support during difficult times with flowers. Whether you hope to launch a career as a professional Floral Designer, start your own business, or learn these skills to brighten your home or a loved one’s day, taking an in-person or live online course is the first step toward reaching your goal. And if you live in the Los Angeles area and want to launch a Floral Design career, you’ve come to the right place: Floral Designers in LA earn $45,000 to $50,000 annually—nearly 25 percent higher than the U.S. average.
Los Angeles is the U.S. metropolitan area with the third highest level of employment for Floral Designers. This fact makes LA an ideal spot for exploring an exciting floral design career.
And even if you’re not looking to become a professional, enrolling in a class to learn these valuable skills is a fun activity with friends or a great way to meet new people in LA. Another way to use your skills is to create a side hustle like selling arrangements on Etsy or working at a local florist creating bouquets and making deliveries.
Floral design can also be a fun and relaxing hobby that’s relatively inexpensive since you can grow flowers in your home, backyard, or community garden. You can also join a local garden club or community group to widen your social circle. For example, check out the Los Angeles Garden Club, a group of flower enthusiasts who participate in many meaningful and inspiring projects. Since you can learn floral design at any age, these relaxing and fun skills will last a lifetime.
Enrolling in an in-person floral design class is the perfect excuse to get outside and enjoy the California sunshine. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet new friends and network with fellow flower enthusiasts. And who knows, taking a course could lead to an exciting career opportunity!
