Darren Ornitz

Darren is a photojournalist based out of Brooklyn, NY. He works as a freelance photographer for Reuters and his work has been published in the New York Times, Travel + Escape, Afar, and various other publications. He studied at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University before graduating from Fordham University in 2008 with a degree in International Studies and Fine Arts. He has traveled extensively throughout Africa and Asia, to more than twenty-five countries, including Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Yemen, Nepal and Oman. Darren is currently living between New York and Panama where he is documenting a long-term story on a gang intervention and reintegration program.
