This was a great intro to knife skills class. The content was focused on the fundamentals but the instructor gave lots of attention to each student, making sure everyone was learning and progressing.

We both had an excellent time. Learned several interest tips from our instructor as well. Looking forward to our next class

We learned little about grilling techniques and more about knife techniques. The instructor seemed annoyed when I asked questions and instead of teaching step by step, she talked at the group about all the steps and basically sent us on our way with recipes to figure it out. Very disorganized and disappointed.

Chef Ingrid was awesome! I can’t wait to take more of her classes :-)

Very unorganized. Lots of standing around unsure of what to do next. Would have been much better if Chef had a couple assistants. Very disappointed overall.

Loved the instructor
Loved how she taught
Learned so much!

The class was great! Chef Sue was patient with the class and taught us how to make tasty pasta from scratch.
-
The course was well taught and allowed me to learn the proper techniques for working with a knife. Well worth my time and money.

I enjoyed Essential Skills 2 even more than the other two classes I have taken at ICE. Chef Sue is a wonderful teacher, she explains everything, is patient, and encouraging. I would love to take more classes with chef Sue!

It was a great class and I feel like I learned a lot. I feel like I can take these skills and use them to shorten the time I spend in the kitchen just prepping. The start of the class was a little long winded about ICE in general, information that is seemed geared towards taking other classes, but felt like a waste of time. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is due to the lack of attention received during the class. The instructor did a decent job working around the room, but it felt like there was more feedback we could have received, especially when working with knifes. The assistant was not that great, she barely attempted to assist any of the students, but the instructor did say she was new, so maybe she just needs more guidance. Overall a great class that I would recommend to others, but there is some room for improvement.

The class was good. For the beginner, it goes through the basics. For the more experienced user, they went over some skills and habits that I have not been using when I cook. They went over different types of cuts and how to cut certain fruits and vegetables in an efficient way. They also went over honing and sharpening but only with hand held knife sharpeners - we did not practice knife sharpening over sharpening stones, which is what I was hoping for.

This class was exactly what I signed up for: an understanding of the essential tools needed for prepping food safely and efficiently. We went over the differences in equipment, how to use each tool (knife, peeler, sharpener, etc), and practiced with a good range of foods. I feel as though I will be able to decrease my prep time for meals and spend more time cooking. Looking forward to taking their Knife Skills 2 class!

I enjoyed the experience immensely. I never knew such a school existed but the class itself was bad. They taught us how to make one drink and then had stations set up to make 3 others without anymore tips and instructions.
I will continue to do more classses with you but this class was costly and not worth the money.

Very informative and a great instructor.

The teacher was very interactive with everyone in the class. It was my first time taking a class there and I'm so excited to book another one. It made my sisters birthday a time to remember.

This is a really well structured class and everyone agreed they had benefitted from very easy adjustments or new tricks to make things so much easier in the kitchen in future. We got to bring home all the julienned and diced vegetables we had chopped during the morning. The only thing that is really annoying is the constant plugging by the instructor for the brand of knives they use in the school, which are donated to them by the company, no doubt in exchange for heavy endorsement. She did the same with the Oxo utensils and Kitchenaid mixers, even though we did not use them in the class. If you can ignore that, or if you are in fact looking to buy some expensive knives at a school discount, then you will really enjoy the class, which I did.
The facilities of this school are extraordinary and I'm sure can't be beaten anywhere in the country, so I do believe this class is good value as it's an introductory class. I will definitely sign up for others in future.

The teacher was informative and hilarious! Had a great time.

The class and instructor were great. I know that it was a knife skills 1 class but it would have been nice to one extra skill aside from julienne/ dice.

I did this class with my fiancee as a birthday gift and we loved it!
Our instructor was Sue and she was so much fun. She showed us easy (and quite amazing) ways to chop tomatoes, onions, peppers, etc. The class is structured very well for beginners and again, Sue makes it fun. We were laughing the whole time and couldn't believe 3 hours had gone by!
