Carol Haidar

Teaches at Nasma Of New York

Spending most of her life in the Middle East, Carol (along with her beautiful 4 year old daughter) moved to New York 5 years ago and fell in love with the magic of the city.

It was very important for Carol that her daughter be introduced and exposed to the Arabic culture. Not only does she love the opportunity and diversity, in NYC – but she wanted to learn about the culture and people in NYC.

Carol graduated from the Lebanese American University in Beirut, Lebanon. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts and worked as a TV reporter and a documentary filmmaker.

She always enjoyed cooking, sewing, and teaching the Arabic language. She’s very proud of her Lebanese heritage and wants to shine a positive light on the Arab culture. She currently teaches Levantine dialect  as well as Modern Standard Arabic to New Yorkers of all ages and backgrounds.

Through Nasma, Carol wants to introduce the beauty of the Arab World and positively impact today’s youth through education and acceptance.
