Sense Writing Two-Day Workshop

Often the songs we write, the music we make, the paintings we paint start with our own life stories. This innovative, seven-hour writing workshop uses memory and life stories to explore and refine the connection between your senses, emotions, thoughts, and imagination to open up new dimensions in your work.

• ​Learn to reduce anxiety over writing to fully inhabit the world of your writing.
• Slow down to uncover the intrinsic structures of craft.
• Practice the techniques throughout the whole 8 days and by the end complete one to two pieces of creative non-fiction.

Because the focus of the approach is on what is felt and "tangible" rather than abstract ideas of "good writing," writers of all levels and genres learn to bypass judgment, immerse themselves fully in their writing, and find pleasure in all the stages of the craft. Open to anyone looking to overcome ineffective creative habits and make more art. Sense Writing, includes in-class and out of class writing exercises and sharing in a supportive environment. Sense Writing unique writing exercises integrate simple visualizations and physical exercises designed to ease your nervous system, free up your voice, and refine your craft.
