What you'll learn in this basic spanish class:
Maybe you don’t know anything more than “tacos” and “margarita,” or you’ve taken a decade off. Either way, you’re ready to change that!
Beginner Spanish 1 is perfect for you if you're completely new to the language and you want to get the basics down to start speaking conversational Spanish.
WHO THIS CLASS IS FOR
Start here if you've never studied Spanish before or if you've taken a decade off and need a refresher.
HOW YOU'LL LEARN
With a small group (averaging six students per class and capped at ten), you'll have an opportunity to engage in conversational Spanish with other language learners with real time feedback from the instructor.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
You'll learn the necessary foundation for fluency, such as introducing yourself, describing your likes and dislikes, and talking about your friends and hobbies.
WHAT YOU'LL LEAVE WITH
By the end of our level one course, you’ll have the foundation to conjugate verbs in the present tense and be able to hold basic conversations, order food when dining out, or go shopping in Spanish.
Remote Learning
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Group class:
- You have until 8 business days prior to the start date of your class to make any cancellations.
- After that, refunds cannot be offered under any circumstance (unless the cancellation is made by Fluent City).
Private lessons:
- Refunds can only be requested before the first lesson has been scheduled. Once a student has been introduced to their instructor and their first lesson is confirmed, a refund can no longer be processed.
In the event that an instructor or the school needs to cancel at the last minute, students will receive a refund less a 5% non-refundable registration fee.
Transfers (level transfers)
If you’re in an incorrect level placement for a language class, we’ll make sure to get you into the right one!
Email us at [email protected] before the second class of your course and we'll transfer you to the appropriate level.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

I took Spanish 1 at the Fluent City through coursehorse! I loved my classes, and I think I have grasped the basics that were taught to us by our teacher, Elizabeth. She's a great teacher, makes learning fun and easy, always open to answering questions, and after the first 2-3 sessions, she even conversed with us in Spanish! I loved everything about my class.
The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because they don't offer free make up class, if you miss a class you have to pay $45 for a make up session if you'd like. Otherwise, you can just practice at home by yourself. In my opinion, at least one make-up class should be free.
Other than that, I loved everything about the course as well as fluent city!
I am glad I took up this class!
