We want to give the aspiring jewelry maker the incredible experience of transforming metal, as well as the techniques and knowledge they will need in order to realize their own design ideas.
Learn jewelry making and metal design from goldsmiths Daniel Valencia and Emily Reeder. Small class size, fully equipped student studio ensures individual attention and step-by-step demonstrations. Beginner and Intermediate levels. Students will work with sterling and semi precious stones on jewelry projects and learn techniques of hammering, sawing, forging, filing, bezel setting, soldering and basic stone setting.

We had a really small class just 4 of us. Dan gives great instruction - he demos each part of the process and then will provide additional assistance through each step of making your pieces. The studio is well equipped and they take COVID seriously with dividers between workstations and requiring masks and gloves (both provided) to all who enter. I’m already signed up for Metals 2!

This class was amazing! The instructor, Dan, was an excellent teacher. In addition to being incredibly talented, he’s enormously entertaining. I had an awesome weekend learning how to set stones and had a great time, too. I would highly recommend this course.

I really enjoyed the class. You will learn proper techniques from highly skilled instructors to build a good foundation for starting your metal-smithing experience. The benches used are well appointed with quality tools and equipment making it easy to learn the right way to do things. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in learning how to make sterling silver jewelry.

I enjoyed the class! The benches were well equipped and proper use of tools was a focus. Both Dan and Emily were a wealth of knowledge. They were patient and helped everyone meet with success.
