Sunset and Moonrise Over The Capitol Columns at the National Arboretum
Join us for this exclusive and exciting opportunity to photograph the full moon rising over the lighted Capitol Columns.
We’ll start the class by capturing the Capital Columns bathed in the warm golden light of late afternoon. Then after sunset, we'll see a beautifully colored sky. Later as the moon rises, we’ll frame it among the columns and then overtop of them. This is a very unique opportunity so don’t wait too long to register.
Recommended Equipment:
- Digital SLR or Mirrorless camera with manual exposure controls.
- A zoom lens in the range of 18 – 200mm. A longer lens will give you the opportunity for to capture the moon larger in your frame.
- Tripod (required for night photography) and remote trigger switch if available.
A per person donation to the National Arboretum is included in the price of the class.
Prerequisite: Students should be able to work with exposure controls (ISO, Aperture and Shutter speeds) and also be familiar with their camera.
