Sylvia Nobbmann

Teaches at Mindful Meditation Silicon Valley

Sylvia was born in Germany, where she received her Masters Degree in Psychology at Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich and trained as a marriage and family therapist. She began her journey with meditation over 20 years ago. After about 10 years of Tai Chi practice, she started teaching this meditative movement training to several students. She later moved to England and then on to California. Sylvia is a qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher. She has completed several professional training programs with teachers including Jon Kabat-Zinn and Bob Stahl (Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School). In 2014 Sylvia started one of the largest Mindful Meditation Meetup Groups, inspiring over 1700 members in San Jose, CA. Besides continually expanding her knowledge of meditation techniques and yoga, Sylvia is also involved in volunteer work, for example at Cancer Care Point in San Jose. Sylvia loves being in nature, capturing special moments with photography, which is among her personal ways of being mindful.
