Chauncie Henry

Teaches at Oceanside Dance Academy

Chauncie started her dance training at the age of ten at Oceanside Dance Academy, which makes her no stranger to life at ODA. She has always thought of ODA as a home. She trained in jazz, lyrical, ballet, hip hop, and tap under Joceyln K. Wilson, Theo Ivey, and Tarua Hall for nine years and joined the competition dance teams. She was on the dance team at Rancho Buena Vita High School for three years, and served as team leader for one year. She was also privileged to dance under the direction of Tessandra Chavez in the Unity Dance Ensemble for four years. Three of those years were spent in the apprentice company, Unity 2. Her last year was in the Unity San Diego Company. She has also had the opportunity to dance with Adam Parson and JT Horenstein, Chauncie has done many different sports, such as cheerleading, gymnastics, and baseball, but found her passion for dance within the walls of ODA.
