Description

For the past 18 years, Randi Feldman has been teaching a series of film workshops & giving lectures at UCLA, NYFA (New York Film Academy in L.A.), AFI's Directing Workshop for Women, , Santa Fe Community College, "F.I.T" Film Industry Training Program presented by S3 Entertainment Group in Detroit, Michigan, & Colombia College Hollywood. She is also the director of CINEMA WORKSHOPS, teaching various courses in "The Craft of the Script Supervisor" to aspiring directors, producers and script supervisors of films and commercials. Randi offers courses in private and semi-private workshops as well.

When she is not teaching or working on films and commercials as a script supervisor, or doing script pre-timings for major studios on films like, "Sweeney Todd", "The Kite Flyer", "Runaway Jury", "Flight of the Phoenix", "The Time Machine", "From Hell", "Down with Love", you will find her backpacking into the great outdoors with her camera and watercolors, creating images which she brings to art festivals throughout the year. Friends of Randi also know her as a pianist and videographer for family oral histories.

Above all, Randi is most admired by her students as a skilled script supervisor and mentor. Her background includes the following filmography, commercial productions, and other work experience and education.

For anyone who is interested in becoming a Script Supervisor for Film/TV/Commercials, I highly recommend taking Randi Feldman's Cinema Workshop courses. Not only does she teach the basics of this craft (which is a LOT of information), but she also gives you insights into the film industry which prepares you for anything. What I also like about Randi's class is that she is very hands on and teaches students by filming short scenes so one can get an idea of what it's like to be on set as a script supervisor. I also encourage you to take her Advanced, Visual Effects and Commercials course...she has a wealth of knowledge to share since she's been in this business for a very long time and also has been taught by Pat Miller and other A-List Script Supervisors. A month after graduating from her class I've been working non-stop as a Script Supervisor. Randi is always emailing and updating her students with jobs so you are always in the loop. If you are seriously considering this line of work, Randi Feldman's class is a FANTASTIC way to go.

Put it simply, Randi Feldman is a treasure. She has not only worked as a script supervisor for many years but has taken up the task of teaching this challenging and complicated profession. With knowledge and passion, Randi walks you through the many responsibilities of a script supervisor. During the class, you can expect to be filling out production forms and lining scripts. Her hands- on approach allows you to make short films to illustrate the many concepts covered. Randi provides her students with the opportunity to hear experienced script supervisors speak, one on one time, resume reviews, work referrals and continued support once you graduate. Randi's deep understanding of the material, her energetic teaching style and the engaging learning atmosphere makes this class a must have. The decision to take Randi's class has paid off in more ways than I can count. I look forward to taking several of her other classes to increase my knowledge base in other areas such as commercials, special effects and yes, digital scripting!

My background being unrelated to production in a city far from LA, I somehow discovered the role of script supervisor by chance. Yet only hours into Randi Feldman's workshop, it became crystal clear it was meant to be. In a blink of an eye, Randi's ability to translate her expertise and experience in script supervision took me from "Wait. They film out of order?!" to "Should we get a clean XI?". I am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to attend her full workshop. Though I was the only student in our class that had neither studied film nor set foot on set, in less than 2 months I was shocking not only myself, but fellow crew who couldn't believe it was early days for me as a script supervisor. I can't thank Randi enough for being the most generous, wise and encouraging instructor, mentor and friend on this new adventure!

Since completing Randi's Script Supervising class in 2012, I am convinced, through her teachings and encouragement, my career has been on a fast-track for success. Randi's curriculum is not only incredibly thorough, it includes years of personal insight, bridging the responsibilities of a script supervisor to the art of filmmaking. Randi teaches scripting by pen and paper, a highly effective way to better understand the paperwork process of connecting a visual presentation of artistic work to its documentation. Additionally, through invited colleagues and guest lecturers, her curriculum introduces her students to current, real-time techniques valued in our industry. Randi continues to follow my progress and has recommended me for various projects. Each opportunity has been unique and, in many cases, opened additional doors for me. The film industry has come to trust in the skills of Randi's teachings as it is reflected through the graduates of her course. She is the best.

An inspiring - and hilarious! - teacher, she's an expert in the field of Script Supervising with years of experience in a constantly changing industry. She approaches Script Supervising not only as a seasoned craftsman, but as a filmmaker and an innovative, creative mind. Since completing her course in 2014, I have not stopped working! Not only did I emerge from her course with excitement and great appreciation for the craft of Script Supervising, but complete confidence that she provided me with the knowledge and tools to build a thriving and valuable career in the industry.
