Ian Kennedy

Teaches at Veritas Prep

Ian Kennedy is someone who never backs down from a mountainous challenge - whether literal or figurative. He grew up in the Washington, DC area and graduated from Cornell University before joining the US Army and spending almost seven years in the Special Forces teaching military skills to soldiers and police officers in Iraq, Philippines, Thailand, and South Korea. Upon returning to the U.S., this recipient of the Bronze Star award began studying physics at Columbia University and now plans to enter Stanford’s MBA program next year. On the more literal side of “mountainous”, Ian has already summited Mt. Rainier, and he’s completed a 4-day trek through the Salkantay Pass to Machu Picchu. Never one to slow down, he now aspires to climb Denali in the next few years. In his spare time (which is probably scarce), New York-based Ian enjoys reading popular science and history (most recently Brian Green’s Fabric of the Cosmos and David McCullough’s 1776) and watching the best that HBO has to offer (especially Game of Thrones, Westworld, and The Wire).
