What you'll learn in this unique class:

This class offers students everything they need to know in order to build a basic model railroad. If you are planning your first model railroad layout, you seek guidance on where to start, or you want to be inspired with some ideas then this class is for you.

Topics will include: where to start, layout planning, track, benchwork, electrical, locomotive choices, structures, scenery, and operations. For each topic, suggestions will be offered from easy implementation to difficult implementation. Demos will largely focus on the easy implementation choices with some variance. Students will walk away with confidence to build a layout and an information packet.

This class will be lecture-based using real life examples and live demos. Ample time will be given for questions.

About the Instructor:

Ryan has been building model railroads for over 8 years. He has experience in every aspect of the hobby including model structure building, scenery, electrical, layout planning, and operations. A president of a club, he's thrilled to have this opportunity to spread knowledge and promote the hobby.
