Full Course Title: Return of the Rub a Dub: The Caribbean Roots of Hip-Hop Music
We'll be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop by going on a historical journey to uncover some lesser known roots of the music we know and love today.
From techniques like sampling and scratching to the art of toasting (rapping) over looping melodies Hip-Hop music and culture has an undeniable Caribbean influence that is much less spoken about than its South Bronx birth story. Join Dj Prince aka Wifi OG in the backyard of AllinOne Collective's Clinton Hill Mansion for an evening of musical selections, story-telling and conversations that will illuminate our understanding of the Hip-Hop phenomenon we see before us today.
