Bring your characters to life in our 2D animation Foundation course. Students are introduced to the foundations of animation, learning to pose, breakdown, and in-between characters. Weekly lectures teach classical techniques for developing well-structured and fluid animations that can be applied to traditional frame-by-frame, hand-drawn, and FX.
Utilizing Photoshop/Toon Boom Studio software, the 2D animation class covers the fundamentals of animation such as weight, balance, timing, and movement. In addition, students explore in-depth techniques for creating quality 2D animations, including key framing, staging, and walk cycles. Near the end of the course, students will develop and present their own short animations using their original characters and storyboards.
