Learn how to make homemade Spanish tapas!

There is no better way to wow your guests than bringing an authentic taste of Spain to the table. While these Iberian bites are sure to impress, you won't need to pick up much from the grocery store.

These classics can be made with things you probably already have in your kitchen. 

In this online live course, we will go step by step through the recipes. You will need to purchase the ingredients ahead of time. The class lasts 2 hours. Please be sure to logon about 10 minutes prior to class to make sure you have a good connection.

About the Instructor:

After studying culinary arts in Houston, TX, I traveled around the world to specialize in international cuisine. I ultimately made myself comfortable in Zaragoza, Spain where I've focused my energies on mastering the traditional techniques of Spanish cuisine.

Materials Needed to Participate Fully:

  • large nonstick saute pan
  • 1 plate the size of the nonstick pan
  • 1 regular saute pan
  • wooden or rubber spatula
  • 1 large pot 
  • cutting board
  • 1 knife
  • slotted spoon
  • whisk
  • 3 white or cremini Mushrooms
  • 1 9oz bag Spinach
  • 3 Yellow onions
  • 4 medium sized Yukon gold (or other white waxy potato)
  • Optional: 1 Tomato
  • Optional: Garlic
  • 2 cups Flour
  • Nutmeg
  • 1 bottle Olive oil
  • 1 bottle neutral oil for frying
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • Red wine vinegar
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • Optional: 1 baguette
  • Optional: Wine to drink if you are of age. ( Reds or bolder whites will pair well)
  • 4 Tbsp Butter
  • 4 cups Milk
  • 8 oz Manchego Cheese (or cheddar or gruyere)
  • 3 oz Goat cheese (blue is fine if you prefer it)
  • 12 eggs
  • Ham (if you can find jamon iberico, great, but regular lunch ham is fantastic)

      What will be included in my Virtual Class package?

      One ticket includes an access link to your live, online class. The class will be delivered via web conferencing software and feature a live, professional instructor who will walk you through a lesson as described above. You will have the opportunity to ask questions as well as participate from home.

      Will I need anything from home to use in the class?

      You will need a reliable Internet connection as well as a computer or device with which you can access your virtual class. We recommend you arrive to class 5-10 minutes early to ensure you're able to set up your device and connection. Additionally, if the class is more than just a lecture you will likely want any materials listed in the course description as "Materials Needed to Participate Fully", though you're welcome to purchase a seat and sit in and just watch.

      Am I able to ask questions or interact with the class?

      Yes, you'll both be able to ask questions using the chat function in the video hosting software as well as at certain intervals during the class via voice/audio. If the class winds up being on the smaller side, more spontaneous interaction/questions will be encouraged.

      Remote Learning

      This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

      Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

      At the beginning I had technical issues connecting, but when I did everything worked out perfectly. Keila was super friendly, and it felt very natural.
