Delights of France - Ah, fromage – a true skill of the French. Enjoy this pairing class that will show you how to really pair like the pros themselves. French classics like Morbier and Comte will definitely make their way onto the plate, with 2 other cheeses that are sure to turn into new favorites. Did we mention the pairing elements? Welcome to our virtual Education Department at Murray’s Cheese! We are excited to continue your curiosity and love of fromage through our online classes, working in tandem with delivery of the class cheeses and their paired accoutrement. As an attendee, you will receive an email with a WebEx link to join our live class, as well as a cutting and plating guide along with class packet. This will work with the cheese and accoutrement you will have delivered to your address so you can taste alongside your instructor for the session.
A single ticket includes 4 different 1/4lb cheeses and 4 different accoutrement, allowing up to 4 people to participate in the cheese tasting. You will receive confirmation as soon as the order is placed, as well as once your order has shipped. Once it has shipped, refunds are not permitted. Tickets sales end 4 days before the scheduled class date to ensure delivery, so order your spot today!
What will be included in my Virtual Class package?
One ticket will include a shipment of 4 cheeses at a ¼ lb each. You can share the class with 3 other members of your household or keep the rest for later! You will also be sent 4 different pairing elements in matching quantity. These will be shipped to you before the class. You will also have access to the WebEx livestreaming class session, which is an hour-long interactive class conducted just as if we were in our Bleecker classrooms!
What if my cheeses don’t arrive in time for the class or I have other delivery issues?
We will be shipping our cheeses via FedEx and will therefore have reliable tracking information. In the circumstance you don't receive your cheeses in time for the livestreamed event, there is the option to record the session to save for when your cheeses do arrive. We do ask that you contact us in the education department if there are any questions about your order.
Will I need anything from home to use in the class?
Besides a reliable internet connection, you will need a few items. You can access the stream via smartphone, tablet, or a computer however it needs to be able to support a video chat session. Your instructors recommend a medium sized cutting board for portioning out your cheeses, along with a non-serrated knife. If you’d like to add to your home collection before class, head to our online store to secure that perfect portioning tool or add a bit of flair with our beautiful cheese slates or knives. Be sure to ask your instructor about how to use specialty tools such as a girolle or harp and how they can be used to take your cheese portioning to the next level.
Am I able to ask questions or interact with the class?
Our streaming platform, WebEx, can host up to 50 active participants at once meaning anyone can speak or ask a question while streaming and can be heard by all participants. We of course encourage participation and welcome our patrons to speak up on video or submit a question in the live chat function as well.
Do you have wine or other beverage pairings available?
We’re currently looking into our options for eventual shipping of alcoholic beverages to our patrons. If you have alcoholic beverages at home and want to incorporate them into the class, please feel free to enjoy them on your own and ask questions to our instructors who can guide you with beverage pairing principles during the class. Please drink responsibly!
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
