Description

What you'll learn in this jewelry making class:

Join us for two days and learn how to granulate in 22k gold. We will alloy and prepare your gold sheet and wire on day 1 and the second day will be devoted to mastering  granulation.

Are materials provided and included in cost of the class? No, students can purchase tools and supplies at the studio.

Materials you need to bring to class : For this course, students can bring their own supplies or purchase the following:  
  • You will need one ounce of .9999 fine gold (you can get more if you are feeling flush) You will need CASH to buy your gold.
  • Other materials (except gold) you can bring or buy here:
  1. a new alloying block
  2. Charcoal block for making granules, silver, copper, plastic tea strainer, fine sable brush, etc. 
  3. Basic Metalworking Tools - Scissors, chain and round nose pliers, files, sandpaper, tweezers, dividers, soldering blocks, ruler
  4. Sharpie marker
  5. dowels
  6. Wire mandrel set
  7. 2 dwt. fine silver for alloying, etc. 
Important things to Note :
  • There is a beginner tool kit available for $282.64 which contains all the basic hand tools, silver, and stones needed to complete the first project. If you already have some tools, bring them.

  • All the larger or specialized equipment such as torches, kilns, hammers, vises, setting tools, daps, drawplates, mandrels, pickle, mills, steel blocks, third arms, enamels, etc are provided for student use free of charge.

Refund less 5% cancellation fee is available if cancellation request comes in 11 business days or more before the class starts.
