I remember reading a one star review. I should not have ignored it because it was completely true. The teacher was late to each class and very disorganized. It was unforgivable to be late for the first class. We spent the first half of the class with her late 15 minutes, her pulling out materials including dumping a suitcase of cheap beads across a table, handouts in no order, roll call, and then finally an overview of tools. While I don't consider the classes a complete loss; there was very little accomplished. The cost of the class is reasonable. However, the materials fee is completely unreasonable. We were given very little for our $45.00 cost. I would much rather have had a list of supplies to bring and not pay $45.00 for worthless supplies. There is nothing I will use from what was given in class. The supplies given were worth $10.00 at best. The method of teaching was also not good. The class of 12 was called to the front to watch her do something. We were briefly shown something and sent back to the desks to work. She continued at the front working on her own things. She should have spent the entire time circulating the class individually with students to make sure everyone was getting the project. She did not. I'm certain that this is why several people never showed up after the first class. There was no real instruction or teaching.

I gave this course a 3/5 stars because I did learn a couple of new techniques in jewelry making. The instructor definitely has knowledge about various techniques in jewelry making, and has step by step handouts that are clear and useful. That said, I could not rate this course any higher because of the following reasons. #1) The instructor was 20 minutes late for the first class and 10 minutes late for the second class. She ultimately made it on time for the final class. #2) The instructor was extremely disorganized. By the time she finished unloading all her materials, taking roll & fees, and having students collect scattered handouts, 30 minutes of class had gone by. Add that to the 20 minutes of tardiness in the first class, we did not begin instruction until 50 minutes in. #3) During instruction, the instructor was not prepared with her examples or with the supplies she needed for the demonstration. This took up #3) There is a $45 materials fee. This would be fine, except the materials provided were of very low quality, especially the assortment of beads. You are given 3 strands of low quality beads and are given the opportunity to purchase additional strands at $2. I think the materials fee was high for what we got.

Although the the teacher was nice, she wasn't terribly organized and a bit scattered, which was not inspirational in any manner whatsoever! After the first class, I never returned for the other two classes - a total waste of $100+ - very disappointing!
