Patti Silverstein and Lisa Thackaberry

Lisa Thackaberry (www.pattiandlisa.com) is a photography and visual image editor, teacher and consultant living in Los Angeles. She teaches two classes at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena ( Editorial and Composition) and consults for professional photographers with her partner Patti Silverstein. Following her studies at UCLA and Sotheby’s in London, she moved to NYC and worked for FOTO and Light Gallery before becoming the Photo Editor of GQ Magazine. After several years learning how to research, produce and art direct photo shoots, she returned to Los Angeles and applied her skills to California Magazine, Home, LA Times Sunday Magazine, Los Angeles Magazine and Angeleno. With a passion and eye for art, Lisa brought the finest photographers to each of the publications she worked for as well as developing new talent. She collaborated with editors and designers to ensure that the imagery produced was surprising, informative and memorable. She was also very effective pitching, producing and art directing original content for the magazines she worked for. Photographers she has collaborated with include Mary Ellen Mark, Frank Ockenfels, Antonin Kratochvil, Gregg Segal, Chris Buck etc. In addition to her editorial work, has collaborated with artists on book projects, exhibitions and editing work for portfolios and websites. In 2015, Lisa co-authored with photographer Dan Chavkin the book Hand-In- Hand: Ceramics,Mosaics, Tapestries and Woodcarvings By The California Mid- Century Designers Evelyn and Jerome Ackerman. Over the years, Lisa has been recognized for her work by American Photography, SPD. Communication Arts and PDN.

Patti Silverstein (www.pattiandlisa.com) brings to the table over 20+ years of experience working with photographers. She started at a celebrity stock agency which led to her becoming a commercial agent and opening her own agency. She represented all types of photographers, including portrait, lifestyle, still life, food and interiors and landed jobs with clients such as Target, Coke, Westin Hotels, JC Penney and MasterCard. In 2006, Patti launched Elemental PhotoArt representing fine art photographers and has succeeded in selling their nature themed artwork to interior designers and architects. She had a very clear vision for this company – to be a part of creating peaceful environments for people. Her photographers’ images can be seen in commercial and residential buildings, including hospitals, hotels and spas as well as in private collections. Patti also has teamed with an art licensing agent and her photographers’ images can be seen on calendars, cards and wall de?cor. In 2015, Patti helped to secure a publisher for one of her photographers, Deborah Samuel. The Extraordinary Beauty of Birds was released by Prestel Publishing in the Spring of 2016 and she was involved in promoting and marketing the book worldwide. For the past 6 years Patti has been offering her services as a photo editor for photographers’ websites and portfolios. In 2016 she joined forces with Lisa Thackaberry to form the editing company, Patti & Lisa. Patti has always had a passion for photography and truly appreciates the inspiration and creative energy behind each image.
