2-Day Storytelling for Business Workshop

These online workshops will be conducted very much like our in-person workshops, with storytelling exercises and opportunities to share your stories and get feedback from your instructor and fellow students. We’ll be using the Zoom online platform to host our video calls, and we’ll send you all the info you need on how to join your class when you sign up.

In this 2-day workshop, participants apply the principles of compelling storytelling to communicate more effectively on the job. Brief lectures and hands-on exercises focus on bringing an emotionally resonant arc to brand biographies, personal anecdotes for professional networking, and vision-into-action stories.

Participants will get a chance to share and receive feedback on one short story of their choosing. The instructor confers with each student via email prior to the day of the workshop to help the student prepare appropriate story content to workshop.

Notes:

For online classes, please arrive on time and be prepared to attend the class with your camera on (not just audio).

Headphones are recommended to reduce echo/feedback and provide more privacy for your classmates. 

We encourage you to make recordings (video or audio) when you share your story. You can do this using a separate smart device or by using Quicktime or Garageband on your computer. Please decide ahead of time what is easiest for you. If you are going to use a smart device, make sure that there is enough available memory on your phone or tablet to make a 5-minute recording. This is only a tool for you, and no one else will be viewing these videos. We do know that taping oneself makes some people uncomfortable, so please know that this is not mandatory.

This class is open to all students. No experience required.
