Once called Afghan Crochet, Tunisian Crochet creates a soft and cushy fabric. It uses a special crochet hook with either extra length or an extension for carrying yarn similar to knitting.
In this technique, the front side of the fabric is always facing you, and you create this fabric by alternating between Forward and Return rows. Students will learn how to get started, forward and reverse passes, several stitches and a standard bind off.
Materials:
- Yarn: Any light colored worsted or Aran weight yarn cotton
- Needles: Tunisian hook size J 6.0 mm
- Supplies: One locking stitch marker
- Pattern: All patterns will be provided in class
Techniques covered: Cast On, Bind Off, Tunisian Simple Stitch, Tunisian Knit Stitch, Tunisian Full Stitch, and Standard Return Pass.
