Teaches at New York Botanical Garden

Robin Jess is the former Executive Director of ASBA. She is fluent in graphite, watercolor, pen and ink, and etching and is the Coordinator of NYBG's Botanical Art & Illustration Program.

Robin has been a freelance botanical illustrator and artist since 1976. She earned an M.A. from Pratt Institute. She has received two grants from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, including the Distinguished Artist's Fellowship in 1990. With funding from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation and through the Pinelands Preservation Alliance, Robin created a series of 40 watercolors of New Jersey's Pinelands flora, which toured the state's major museums and arts venues.

Wendy Hollender is a botanical artist, author, and instructor. Her illustrations have been published in The New York Times; O, The Oprah Magazine; Real Simple; Good Housekeeping; Sunset Magazine; and The Observer (UK). Her work was included in the 13th International Exhibition of Botanical Art & Illustration at Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, and in exhibitions at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. She is the author of Botanical Drawing in Color: A Basic Guide to Mastering Realistic Form and Naturalistic Color and Botanical Drawing, A Beginner's Guide, and Foraging & Feasting: A Field Guide and Wild Food Cookbook, which was written by Dina Falconi and illustrated by Wendy, and has won two gold medals to date. Her most recent book is The Joy of Botanical Drawing.

In 1976 Wendy graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and began a career in botanical illustration after completing a certificate at the New York Botanical Garden in 1998. In 2009 she moved from Manhattan to a farm in the Hudson Valley so she could live among the plants she documents in her work.

Dick Rauh, Ph.D., received a Gold Medal for his illustrations of dry fruitsand other remnants in the January 2006 Royal Horticultural Society Flower Show in London, where he also earned a Best in Show.

Dick started his career in botanical painting in retirement, after a career in Motion Picture Special Effects. In the 80s, he completed NYBG's certificate program in Botanical Art & Ilustration and started illustration work for a number of scientists.

This led him to pursue a graduate program in Plant Sciences at the City University of New York, ending up with a doctorate in 2001. He received a Gold Medal for his illustrations of dry fruits and other remnants in the January 2006 Royal Horticultural Society Flower Show in London, where he also earned a Best in Show. Two of the painting have recently been included in the Hunt Collection at Carnegie-Mellon University. Other paintings have been included in the Hunt Collection at Carnegie-Mellon University, New York State Museum, and the Lindley Library in London.

As a member of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Florilegium, Dick has been drawing a number of the specimen trees on their grounds as well as in their Bonsai collection. He has been on the board of ASBA for a number of years, and was the past president of the GNSI.

Specializing in rare plants in watercolor on vellum, Carol Woodin's work has been exhibited around the world, recently at the Museo della Grafica, Pisa, Italy, Santorini Biennale of Arts, Greece, UBS Gallery, New York, and the Shirley Sherwood Gallery, UK. Some collections that include her work are the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, Smithsonian NationalMuseum of Natural History, the Dr. Shirley Sherwood Collection, and the Alisa and Isaac M. Sutton Collection.

Recipient of the 1998 ASBA Diane Bouchier Artist Award, a Royal Horticultural Society Gold Medal, and the 2016 Orchid Digest Medal of Honor, she served on the Board of the American Society of Botanical Artists, and is now its Director of Exhibitions.
