Description

What you'll learn in this indian cooking class:

Mukti will give you the detailed descriptions of spices, sauces and what goes with what and how to flavor the dishes. She will give you all the detailed information about where to shop and how to get the find the best spices. After that we will prepare the dishes which are very authentic with vibrant tastes and textures of this rich and fascinating cuisine.

If you are intrigued by the flavors, healthy benefits & healing properties of Indian spice, if you would like to learn how to cook healthier, lighter, with better flavors, if you would like to cook without the cream and heavy oils that many Indian restaurants use then come to the school's cooking classes.

Menu:
  • Chana Masala (chickpea with onion,ginger and garlic infused with spices)
  • Aloo gobi (Cauliflower, peas, potatoes curry)
  • Chana dal with coconut (Yellow lentil with coconut and ginger)
  • Vegetable Pulao (Fluffy Basmati rice with onion,carrots, peas and cashews and raisin)
  • Onion Fritters with chickpea flour (Onion, mixed with chickpea flour and spices)
We invite you to bring notebook, so you can take all the secrets back home with you and delight yourself and those you love.

What you will get:
  • Tips and tricks about the spices that you will be using, you will be cooking too
  • Friendship, fun and delicious food (complete dinner)
  • I will teach you the nuances and secrets, where to get the masalas and how to keep the aroma intact.
  • You get the printed recipe of the dishes. It is so much fun to make them and even better to taste.

Note:
There's a minimum of 3 students for a class to run. If the minimum is not met, Mukti will personally reach out to reschedule via phone or email.
School Notes:

Mukti's Kitchen doesn't offer refunds for both provider-initiated and student-initiated cancellations. Please refer to the Cancellation Policy tab for more information. No exceptions will be made after the order has been placed.

Refund Policy

We are sorry that we cannot issue refunds for classes, but you may send someone in your place or choose another class if you cannot make it for any reason.

We do require at least business days of notice for us to provide credit for another class, otherwise we are left with an empty spot and not enough time to refill it off the waiting list.

If we don't get three or more students, we will reschedule the class for another day and we will communicate with you via email. If the class gets canceled for any reason we will let you know in advance.

For snowy days, please contact us and we will let you know if the class is still being held.

Important: Please note that all classes are non-refundable and class cancellations made by the school and students alike are covered in the above policy.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

    In Mukti's kitchen I was able to see, touch, smell, and taste the raw, freshly blended, and cooked spices. It was an evening for the senses. There were four of us with varying requests: two vegans, so no ghee; one sensitive to peppers, so only one dish with mildly hot spices. Given these constraints, Mukti taught us to cook healthy and absolutely delicious appetizers and main dishes.

    Mukti is a wonderful cook and teacher. She has a wide knowledge of cooking in general and was happy to answer all of our questions. We left having all the skills to make several dishes! The food was delicious. We'd definitely take another class with her again!!

    Mukti's cooking class was such an intimate experience in her loving home with such good people and energy. The dishes we made were some of the best I ever had in my life. What I loved most is her love for quality and everything being fresh and made to order : such as freshly grounding her spices used in her cooking, making the food the upmost flavorful and authentic tasting. I wish I can take this class five more times! You won't ever get this good of food in an Indian restaurant. Most of all, I love Mukti!!! Mukti has a background in biology which makes her a very special kind of cook. You can't get this experience from anyone else!

    Mukti is lovely and offers a nice experience in her Kitchen. I think this would be a great class for anyone's first forray into Indian cooking.

    I give this class 41/2 stars. Mukti was very knowledgeable and friendly, and the food tasted great. The food we made was slightly different to what was advertised, but it was all amazing.

Will we learn how to cook the chana masala with a pressure cooker or a regular pot?

The instructor uses dry chickpeas which were soaked overnight and use a pressure cooker to boil.
